DatAna is a program for the PSION Series 3a to analyse data.

DatAna reads data which is produced with the application data (DBF-files)
and produces as result a table (SPR-file).

In the easiest case DatAna is a transformation program which
transforms DBF-files to SPR-files.

More over you may select only some records, skip over fields and
define data types or field parts for some fields.

You may count data records or cumulate numerical data (sum, average,
minimum, maximum). There are one- or two-dimensional conversions
available.

The parameters of a conversion may be saved to repeat them after
the data in the DBF-file has been updated.

After the installation read the tutorial in the file DATANA.WRD.

There is also a German version of DatAna. The generated files
are independent of the language version.

Installation:

The following files belong to DatAna:

	datana.opa	-	application program

	datana.wrd	-	introduction text
	datana.txt	-	ASCII version of introduction text

MINIMAL INSTALLATION:
    
It is sufficient to copy just DATANA.OPA to a directory \APP and to
install it from the system screen.

Optionally you can copy the help file DATANA.RSC to a directory \OPD.

INSTALLATION with RCOM:

With 
	RCOM INSTALL <drive:>
*all* files are copied to the PSION:	     

	datana.opa	in	\APP\
	datana.rsc	in	\OPD\
	datana.dbf	in	i:\DAT\
	datana.wrd	in	\WRD\
	tutor?.d2s	in	\D2S\

After that you have to install from the system screen DatAna
with PSION-i.

With				 
	RCOM UNINSTAL <drive:>
*all* files belonging to DatAna are deleted from the PSION.
	
MANUAL INSTALLATION:

Create a directory \D2S\ on your internal drive and copy 
the files to right directories as shown under "Installation 
with RCOM" to your PSION.

You may use any drive (M: A: B:). The file DATANA.DBF *MUST*
go to the the internal drive in directory \D2S.

COPYRIGHT

I hold all rights for this program. There is no registration
or payment necessary to use this program.
The user is responsible for all possible damages by using 
this program.
This progam may be copied to anywhere as long as all parts stay
together and nothing is changed.

FURTHER DEVELOPMENT

DatAna was developed in OPL with OPP; OPP is a preprocessor for OPL and
was created by Andrew Clarkson. The same author wrote the
projectmanagement tool PLAN.

Just as I am motivated I shall further develop DatAna. Perhaps
I shall take a small registration fee, too.

The following ideas could be realised:

	- sorting
	- totals with report and table
	- new data type: date
	- generation of SPR-files with additionals formulas
